I am sure you all read the paper today. The unemployment rate is down to 9.7%. That is a huge drop! The jobless rate is at lowest level since August 2009. Back up the Brinks truck boys, I am going shopping! Oh wait. I am still unemployed… The recession is over! Oh wait. I am still unemployed.
I’ve been unemployed since July 2009. But now I am encouraged… it is only a matter of time until a job comes my way! Not really… the drop is due to the fact that the 9.7% rate only counts people on the dole. Anyone who has exhausted their UI benefits is no longer counted as unemployed. What kind of half-assed calculation is that? I am still collecting my $430.00 a week. In about a year I will no longer be officially unemployed.
Lloyd C. Blankfein, got a $9 million bonus this year. Good for you Lloyd. I know you really wanted a boat load more but you took one for the team. Somehow I think you’ll find a way to get back what you gave up … when no one is looking.
